Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner

Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner has been the Director of the Aspen Institute since January 1, 2021. She is an internationally recognized expert on transatlantic relations and trade issues. Dr. Mildner has extensive academic and practical experience in transatlantic relations, foreign policy and international trade relations. For the past six years, Dr. Mildner was head of the foreign trade policy department at the Federation of German Industries (BDI), where she helped prepare the global economic dialogue as a sherpa during the German G20 presidency. Her professional career includes academic research activities at the German Council on Foreign Relations and the German Institute for International and Security Affairs as well as teaching assignments at the Hertie School of Governance and the John F. Kennedy Institute in Berlin.
