“Cycling on Alpine passes is the greatest form of joy for me.”

Dr. Jan Beermann

What made you decide to work at ifok?

At ifok, a modern management culture, flat hierarchies and family friendliness do not just exist on paper, but are practiced every day. Cooperation among colleagues is based on appreciation and a solutions-oriented mentality. Along with the exciting projects and personal development opportunities, these are the main reasons why I like to open my laptop every morning!

When did you start at ifok and where were you beforehand?

I joined ifok in August 2020 in the middle of the first Corona summer. Before that, I mediated in wind energy projects as a conflict consultant at the Competence Center for Nature Conservation and Energy Transition and worked on various energy research projects at the FU Berlin, where I also completed my doctorate.

What sets you apart at the office?

Simply calling my fantastic colleagues unannounced: “Sorry, I have a quick question, it will only take a minute, are you free right now?”, and then it takes a little longer…

For me, good and trusting working relationships within the internal project teams as well as with our customers are key. This is the basis for implementing successful projects together.

What do you especially like doing in your free time?

Cycling on Alpine passes is the greatest form of joy for me (apart from my family, of course). Unfortunately, I don’t get enough of that in Berlin.
